 Le Carnivore - Mozart

Si même à genoux
Il faut subir les outrages
Ce monde est fou de rage
On implore le ciel
Si on nous piétine
Mais on devient fier
Quand on domine
Vainquer ou soumis
Je hais ce défi
Car au fond de moi je ne suis...

Ni la proie ni le carnivore
Je renie la loi du plus fort
Je ne veux pas rendre les coups
Je ne peux pas tendre la joue

S'il faut choisir
Entre l'esclave et le maître
Dompter ou se soumettre
Je mets fin au jeu
Inhumain de l'être
Fuyant cette meute
Sans queue ni tête
Victime ou soldat
Je hais ce combat
Car au fond de moi je ne suis...

(Refrain)

Aux carnivores...
Souffir encore, souffir encoir
Subir encoire
Ni la proie ni le carnivore
Je renie la loi du plus fort
Je suis seul maître de mon sort
Sans que j'implore
Sans qu'il me dévorent

If, even on bended knee
I have to endure insults
This world is mad with rage
We beg the heavens for help
If they trample us
But we become proud
When we're on top
Conqueror or conquered
I hate this challenge
Because deep down I'm neither...

Neither the prey nor the predator
I reject the survival of the fittest
I don't want to hit back
I don't want to turn the other cheek

If there's a choice
Between slave and master
Subjugating or submitting
I'll end the game
It's inhumane to play along
To be a part of this herd
With no head or tail
Victim or soldier
I hate this battle
Because deep down I'm neither...

(Refrain)

To carnivores
Suffer again, suffer again
Submit again
Neither the prey nor the predator
I reject the survival of the fittest
I'm the only master of my own fate
I won't beg
I won't be devoured

Le Bonheur de malheur - Constance & Aloysia

Je cherche l'amour sûr
La passion loyale
Des serments qu'on se jure
Si l'amour se fissure
Je me dresse en serpent fatal
Ma morsure est pure
Car elle veut l'idéal

J'ai peur d'user mon sourire
À courir ce bonheur de malheur
Si peur d'user mes soupirs
À simuler l'amour
Quand meurt le meilleur
J'ai peur d'épouser le pire
De tout travestir
Alors je mens
Sacrément
En sacrifiant mes sentiments

Mes frayeurs sont tenaces
Elles tenaillent ma désinvolture
Je n'ai que l'audace
De caresser mes écorchures
Car nos mères amères
Nous on appris leurs pleurs

(Refrain)

On m'a dit que c'est ainsi
Que le bonheur c'est comme ça
Comme un sacerdoce qui va de soi
À vouloir l'éternel
J'ai perdu l'essentiel

Encore les leçons bien apprises
Encore et toujours les mêmes erreurs
Encore l'illusion qui se brise
Encore ce bonheur de malheur

(Refrain)

À la mémoire de nos parents...

I seek a love I can count on
A loyal passion
Vows we uphold
If love begins to fracture
I'll become a deadly viper
My bite is pure
Because it seeks out perfection

I'm afraid of my smile wearing thin
Chasing after the joy of misery
So afraid of my sighs wearing thin
Simulating love
As the best parts of me die
I'm afraid of marrying the worst
And trying to disguise it
So I lie
I'm damned
I sacrifice my own feelings

My fears are tenacious
They torture my indifference
I'm only audacious enough
To caress my scrapes and bruises
For our bitter mothers
Taught us to weep as they did

(Refrain)

They told me this is the way it is
That happiness is like this
Like a calling from within
In the hunt for everlasting love
I forgot what really matters

More lessons learned the hard way
Again, and always the same mistakes
More illusions that shatter
Again, this joy in misery

(Refrain)

In memory of our parents...

Quand le rideau tombe - Léopold

Ils se prosternent
Et tu planes sur les sommets
Mais quand le rideau tombe...
Leurs cris obscènes
Résonnent comme tes vanités
Mais quand le rideau tombe...
Toutes les gloires sont vaines
Elles ne mettent personne au monde

Quand le rideau tombe
Tu retournes avec tes ombres
Elles te sont fidèles
Dieu, comme la gloire est mortelle !
Quand le rideau tombe
Et que les décors s'effondrent
Tu implores le ciel
Dieu, que la gloire est cruelle !
Tu meurs avec elle

Ils t'ont damné
Ils t'ont jeté sur les braises
Mais quand le bateau sombre...
Tout s'est envolé
Quand toutes les clameurs se taisent

(Refrain)

They bow at your feet
And you soar to new heights
But when the curtain falls...
Their obscene cries
Echo like your vanity
But when the curtain falls...
Every kind of glory is useless
Nothing has ever come from it

When the curtain falls
You'll return to your shadows
They're still faithful to you
God, glory is so fleeting!
When the curtain falls
And all the scenery is demolished
You beg the heavens
God, glory is so cruel!
You'll die when it does

They've cursed your name
They've thrown you into the dust
But when the ship sinks...
Everything has flown away
Once the hubbub falls silent

(Refrain)

Je danse avec les dieux - Mozart

Allez, venez
Décrocher la lu- décrocher la lumière
Portez, portez
Portez-moi aux nues
Aux pieds de Jupiter

Brisons les fers
Caressons nos armes
Enchaînons nos pères à leur drâmes

Je danse avec les dieux
Je danse avec le vent
Je suis ivre, ivre et vivant
Je danse avec les dieux
Je danse avec l'instant
Je suis libre, libre du temps
Je dessine mon univers comme je veux

Allez, venez
Tout est révolu- tout est révolution
Portez, portez
Portez-vous à nue
Dénués de questions

Levons nos verres
À toutes les canailles
À nos travers, à nos failles

(Refrain)

Je vole avex les dieux
Je vole au gré du vent
Je suis ivre, ivre et vivant

Je danse avec les dieux
Je danse avec le vent
Je suis ivre, ivre et vivant

Je danse avec les dieux
Je me joue de l'instant
Je suis libre, libre du temps
Je dessine mon univers comme je veux

Come on, let's go
Let's take back the light
Sweep me, sweep me
Sweep me up to the clouds
To Jupiter's feet

We'll break our chains
We'll caress our weapons
We'll leave the drama to our fathers

I dance with the gods
I dance with the wind
I'm drunk, drunk and alive
I dance with the gods
I dance with the moment
I'm free, free from time
I draw my world the way I want it to look

Come on, let's go
Everything is a revolution
Be swept up, be swept up
Be swept up and stripped bare
Stripped of your questions

We'll raise our glasses
To all the rascals
To our quirks, to our faults

(Refrain)

I fly with the gods
I fly where the wind blows me
I'm drunk, drunk and alive

I dance with the gods
I dance with the wind
I'm drunk, drunk and alive

I dance with the gods
I manipulate the moment
I'm free, free from time
I draw my world the way I want it to look

Rentrez vos griffes, bel escogriffe

Rentrez votre dard, mon gros vantard !

(Refrain x2)

You think yourself a tomcat, sir
But the only thing you share with a lion is your silky mane
And you have the sharp fangs of a young predator
Which are more likely to make us laugh than be afraid

If you're not afraid, then come into my cage
And let me sink my teeth into your plumage

Put your claws away, you handsome, awkward thing
We see you as a well-trained dog in pretty clothes
Putting on great shows worthy of a little monkey
But your prey is always women who coo over you
And your nightly feasts are reduced to old hens

And the lords say:
Ladies, we only strut around like this for your sake
You'll only give in to the king of the savanna
That's the way it is
The ladies reply:
Gentlemen, we only swoon like this for your sake
We can ensnare kings with our charms
That's the way it is
And it's such a shame

You parade about, sir, showing off your conquests
Deep down, your handsome mane is just a wisp
You put on the airs of the prince of the jungle
But you act like a pretentious cock

So why are you so bitter about the other fish in the sea
If you're not afraid of taking the bait?

Put away your stinger, enormous braggart!
Just know that we smile at the sight of your kitty-cat claws
You gently meow while your desires roar
The worthiest birds escape you every time
So you content yourself with the lowest life forms

(Refrain x2)

princesse_incongrue: Diane Dassigny facing the camera with an adorably mournful expression (diane)

J'aimerais bien me reincarner
En mammifère, en crustacé
N'importe quel vieux cétacé
Voire même en curcurbitacée
Je ne demande pas grand chose
Juste qu'on m'ignore
Qu'on me fasse une pause
Je ressens comme une overdose
D'affection de sirop d'glucose

Laissez-moi donc à l'abandon
Comme en voie de disparition
Je voudrais me faire oublier
J'veux être une espèce menacée
Écoutez-moi j'm'en fous pas mal
D'une carrière internationale
Ma seule ambition c'est d'rester
Dans mon hamac les yeux fermés

À écouter rire les étoiles
En sirotant un Blue Hawaii
C'est bien sympa, n'vous inquiéter
Mais moi, tout c'que j'veux c'est rêver
Être en eventail les doigts d'pieds
Écouter du bon vieux reggae
Ne pas penser à mon avenir
Qu'existera peut-être jamais

N'essayez pas d'me proteger

Alors pouquoi j'voudrais danser

N'essayez pas d'me proteger
J'aimerais bien me reincarner

J'partirai sans me retourner

I'd like to be reincarnated
As a mammal, as a crustacean
Or any old whale
Maybe even just as a gourd
I'm not asking for much
Just to be left alone
To get a break
My love of glucose syrup
Feels like an overdose

So leave me to grow wild and free
As if I might go extinct
I'd like to be forgotten
I want to be an endangered species
Listen, what do I care
About an international career?
My only ambition is to stay
In my hammock with my eyes closed

To listen to the laughter of the stars
Sipping on a Blue Hawaii
It's really nice, don't worry
All I want to do is dream
To lay back with my feet up
To listen to some good old reggae
Not to think about my future
Which might never even exist

Don't try to protect me
It's not your mission to save me
Yes, it's a deliberate choice
I want to be an endangered species
Just help me fly away
And as soon as I'm in the air
I'll set up under a palm tree
I'll never know winter

I can touch paradise
Just by getting up at the edge of my bed
So why should I want to dance
On the deck of a yacht in Saint Tropez
Worry about your own neuroses
Leave me to smell the roses
The only thing I ask of you
Is to grant me my freedom

I want to hear the laughter of the stars
Sipping on a Blue Hawaii
It's really nice, don't worry
All I want to do is dream
To lay back with my feet up
To listen to some good old reggae
Not to think about my future
Which might never even exist

Don't try to protect me
It's not your mission to save me
Yes, it's a deliberate choice
I want to be an endangered species
I'd like to be reincarnated
As a tick, or a lion left in peace
A hyena, a wolf, a spider
Something no one wants to love

Just to hear the laughter of the stars
Sipping on a Blue Hawaii
It's really nice, don't worry
All I want to do is dream
To lay back with my feet up
To listen to some good old reggae
Not to think about my future
Which might never even exist

Don't try to stop me
I don't want that life, it's killing you
I'll leave without turning back
So I can start over again
And even if in my next life
I hope to see you on the platform
We're not ready to take advantage of it yet
We're endangered species

Original video here.

"I've always dreamed of being in a musical!"  ...why am I doing this?

I don't know why it is that in France this genre is widely criticized - sometimes totally reviled.  [He sings an extract from "Aimer", interjecting "smile, bitch!" between breaths. From offscreen: "Shut up!"]  It's true, we often call French musical production teams cheap or say the songs are silly and meant for little prepubescent teens, not "Broadway" enough or, or- "

When will we have shows like the ones on Broadway?  The way they sing, they dance, they act onstage, it really has that extra something, it- Albert, your show was really great!"  [Hypocrite]

Shut up. Fully shut your mouth.

In fact, in France there are very popular musicals that are very successful!  People somewhere like it, and wouldn't you say that's the most important thing? No? Yes?

The first musical I saw was Les Dix Commandements.  I adored it!  The sets, the staging, the singers!  I felt like a kid, I was totally--don't judge me!

The scene that really stuck with me was when Moses and his companions, followed by the Egyptians, arrive in front of the Red Sea.  Then they have to deal with a new problem: the sea.  The water.

"Come on, follow me, I know the way, we're gonna get 'em- holy shit, what the fuck, there's water everywhere!  We weren't expecting this, fuck, we look like dicks now!  And you, quit (note: he trails off here and I can't understand the rest of the bit) "

After I saw that show I said that I wanted to do a musical too!  I wanted to sing, I wanted to act, I wanted to... to do my job. [#Unemployment Office Musical]  So I went to auditions!  Yep.  I auditioned for everything, in fact.  For more than ten years.  [#No I Didn't Struggle]  Hey, I had to get some things straightened out before I could get it right!

I took singing lessons [#Bullshit] I mean, yeah, I did Star Academy, but weirdly enough I didn't come out any better than when I went in.  I took dance lessons [#Bullshit]... I took tap-dancing lessons... wait, I never took tap-dancing lessons... shit! You know, tap-dancing is really important in France.  I'm going to write myself a post-it note.

The first audition I went to was for Le Roi Soleil.  It was a total failure.  "Good day! I am going to do an interpretation today of a ballad by Count Pokora entitled 'She controls me'!" [Offscreen: "You can go."] "Wait, but I haven't sung yet!  I'll come back!"

But I didn't lose hope after that audition.  There are a lot of opportunities, I did others, and then there was Mozart l'Opéra Rock.  Ah, Mozart l'Opéra Rock.  That audition, on the other hand... was a total failure.  "Hello. I've come for the role of Salieri." [Yes, that's Chopin playing in the background.]  [Offscreen: "You can go."] "Wait, I haven't sung yet! I- I'll be back!"

The truth is that the failure didn't sting that badly this time, because a little while later the production team called to give me an acting role.  "Yeah, okay, fine, I don't sing, but at least I get to act!  Drama!"

That gave me the confidence to keep trying, and today I've just finished four months of performances at the Casino de Paris in "Mistinguett: Reine des Années Folles"!  It was great!  I sang, I acted, I danced, I tap-danced, I- wait, shit, the tap-dancing wasn't me, it was Benchenafi... I've really gotta write that post-it note!

"Mistinguett Reine des Années Folles, the theater event of the season!  Thirty-five performers onstage, two and a half hours of show and total happiness.  The incredible story of the woman who revolutionalized music halls.  Mistinguett Reine des Années Folles, currently at the Casino de Paris, then on tour throughout France!  With DirectMatin and RTL." [This is an old commercial! We're at the Comedia Theater starting April 17, 2015.]

The cherry on top of the cake is that Mistinguett will be back soon at the Comedia!  Yep, still in Paris!  Be patient.

princesse_incongrue: Florent Mothe looking over his shoulder, singing, pain on his face (emo salieri)
 Original interview here.

In order to promote the upcoming tour of Mozart l'Opéra Rock: Le Concert, Florent Mothe was Bernard Montiel's guest on his Saturday, May 24th episode of "M comme Montiel" on MFM Radio.  A that time, the actor who plays Antonio Salieri in the successful musical revisited that amazing adventure, his physique, spirituality, and voting for the conservatives.

Concerning the new tour, the 33-year-old singer didn't try to hide how impatient he was to get back onstage with part of the Troupe of the musical.  This time it's not longer a question of acting, but just concerts with a symphonic orchestra... Unfortunately, geopolitical events forced the producers to delay the opening performances.  "We created this tour with a symphonic orchestra and a chorus that came from Kiev in Ukraine.  Due to recent events they are currently unable to leave their country.  It's the state orchestra and chorus of Kiev, and the orchestra relies on the Ministry of Culture which no longer exists.  They are waiting until the elections are over, and they're stuck," he explained.

Now pushed back to the end of the summer, this tour will allow Florent Mothe to get back in touch with his audience after the release of his first album Rock in chair in April 2013.  Though the performer is enjoying his notoriety now, he indicated that he wasn't always so comfortable in his own skin.  "I think I look good now, but I wasn't always.  When I was young I was heavier, girls didn't like me.  It leaves you without a lot of self-confidence... so you turn to music," he said.

In a talkative mood, Florent also expounded on his spiritual phase!  Hesitant to tell the story at first, the singer finally said that he believes he met the devil in person.  "I met the devil. It was in Toronto, and I'd been through a sort of spiritual phase when I lived in Canada. One night, there was a guy and I told myself 'there's no way that's the devil' and right when I thought that I looked at him, and he was twenty meters away talking to someone else and he looked at me out of the corner of his eye.  It surprised me.  The next day we found out that his name was Damon."

Very frank throughout the traditional news segment, Florent Mothe gave MFM Radio listeners his own take on the rise of the National Front, after having mentioned that he abstained from the last election.  "The National Front is on the rise just because there are dumbasses who vote for the National Front, not because there are people who refuse to vote... I gained a lot of respect for Paris when, during the presidential elections, we saw that Paris had the least votes for the National Front.  That made me really happy and proud to be a Parisian," he said.

The tour of Mozart l'Opéra Rock: the Concert begins September 20th in Caen and will also play at the Palais des Sports in Paris from the 25th through the 28th of next September.

Never never never be afraid of who you are
Never never never be afraid of who you are
Never never never be afraid of who you are
Don't be afraid of who you are
The apostles came by the thousand
Set us against each other
They came in without even knocking, no no
Yet where they come from, we're the ones being deported

They divided us to rule
My darling bled
They divided us to rule
My darling bled

Ebony-colored, white, ivory or tan
The eyes you use to see are diseased
Do these robots even have a heart, no no
I fled, I survive amongst the nomads

They divided us to rule
My darling bled
They divided us to rule
My darling bled

Dad, mom, my freedom has died
Buried beneath laws and rules
I was someone who never dared to push my luck
Unless I was pushing my heart closer to yours

They divided us to rule
My darling bled
They divided us to rule
My darling bled

I dreamed I leapt over the barricade
That I could fly above the wounds
Of a world that didn't look its age
And I wept
No matter how much I screamed, no one heard

They divided us to rule
My darling bled
They divided us to rule
My darling bled

Never never never be afraid of who you are
Never never never be afraid of who you are
Never never never be afraid of who you are
Don't be afraid of who you are

[Disclaimer: when Solal starts naming members of the band and the team, I just transcribed what the names sounded like to me.  I couldn't find a list of the names of the members of the Vodka People online anywhere, so this is my effort.]

Hello everyone and welcome to "Backstage Toulouse FM", the show that brings you behind the scenes of the biggest concerts.  We're all familiar with "Mozart l'opéra rock", a show that was very successful in France and even in other countries thanks to its hit songs like "Tatoue-moi", "L'assasmyphonie", "Vivre à en crever" among others.  Since then, Mozart l'opéra rock has made a big comeback in a different form: a concert.  The biggest songs from the show have been reorchestrated in a symphonic version, with more than sixty musicians onstage, and performed, of course, by the original Troupe.  Today I'll take you behind the scenes for this show, behind the scenes of "Mozart l'opéra rock, le concert" at the Zénith of Toulouse.

(Rehearsals - 4pm - Toulouse)

I was a fan of Florent right away. He's the reason I loved the musical, but then there were also the sets, the tone, I loved everything about the show, I don't know.

You know that tonight it's different, it's not the show-

It's with an orchestra.

With an orchestra, yeah, and are you still as excited?

Yes, I love concerts, I'm a huge fan of concerts.

It's totally different, they've had time to- they seem like they've gotten more confident with themselves, with their voices, and I think it's even more interesting to see them like this than in the context of the musical.

This concert was born almost two years ago.  They began in eastern countries.  Then they were in Tunisia, but there were so many fans who were dying to see them in concert here, so we couldn't deprive them of the pleasure because we were really enjoying it too.  Onstage there are more than sixty musicians: we have the choir, we have the symphonic orchestra.  It's this marriage that lets the performers be freer onstage.  You can tell they're completely liberated and each one can express themselves without begin restrained by the context of the show.

Can you tell me what you're doing right now?

I'm gearing up, because we're going to rehearse.  We're testing the sound now, because everyone always tests the sound.  Always.  Yeah.  So we're going onstage, we're going to test the songs, because the orchestra needs to rehearse, to think about the rythm, because that aspect of it is difficult, being a musician.  But it's great.

Yeah, we just came back from Montpellier, and now we're doing Toulouse.  In Montpellier we were a little more rock-n-roll, so we know in Toulouse we're going to do the same thing.  We're got to really cut loose, yeah.

So you know there are thousands of locals out there waiting for you.  What are they going to see at the concert tonight?

They're going to see the skeleton, the source of Mozart l'opéra rock, which was the songs written by wonderful composers, which we really believe in, and which were really successful.  That's why the album sales did so well, it went to diamond.  That's what we'll do.  Even during the show we were aware of that.

So we're going to talk about some images, since we're doing this interview I'm going to show you- we're going to look at some photos, and you tell me how they make you feel.

Okay.  On a tablet, okay.  Oh!  Okay, Grand Rex.  This photo, it was very, very, very- it was a magnificent moment.  For the first time, we got to see our film that the Korean shot-

In 3D, right?

In 3D. It was James Cameron's team, who make all the films like Avatar, the Matrix, all the movies like-

And how does that feel, to see yourself in 3D on the big screen?

It's incredible.

I'd like to talk about the Troupe.  It's been, what, more than five years that you've known each other?  Has it become a family?

Well yeah!  Plus, here we were with Merwan and Yamin, who we don't get to see in the concert.  But we saw Marwou-

Merwan?

I just tried to say- Yamin and- Mermin!  We met up with Yamin who came to see us at the PDS... well, yeah, these are my brothers and sisters.

Ah, that's our audience!  Well I don't know if it's our audience, but it's the audience.

It's the audience. Fans, just in general.  What do-

The audience is divided into two categories.  There is the audience that carries us, and the audience that we carry.  The audience that we carry was more common at the beginning.  You have to get them used to it, get used to be loud, to all the shouting.  But there is also the audience that cares about you, too.  That means, that as soon as you get onstage, you don't have to do anything else.  You're just carried on their energy.

What's the craziest gift you've gotten from a fan, from a young fan?  You have a really strong link with them.

The craziest gift?

Yeah, the craziest.  Something astonishing.

They've given me incredible things.  They gave me a star.

In the sky?  They bought a star?

Yeah, they named a star Mikelangelo Loconte. Yeah.  With a-

How did you receive that? Personally?

It's strange-

That's an extraordinary gift.

Plus I think it's a part of the place where Sagittarius is, and Orion.  They didn't just pick a random star.

"The Future: Next Exit".  This is a nice photo.

What does that make you think?

It gives me hope.  Because I can be a pretty somber person sometimes, with a dark side, that's why they chose me for Salieri, but I'm profoundly optimistic deep down.  I'm profoundly humanist.  I do believe in- in the people I meet.  It's all the people I've met that-

Do you have doubts?  Since it's such a difficult line of work?

Always, always.  I saw a quote from someone, I don't remember who, that said "Emotionally, artists experience more in one year than most people do in their whole lives" and it's true.  We really do, it's a rollercoaster, and sometimes it's great but to create a song-

It's extreme.

It's two extremes, both extremes.  I'm a little like that, too, which is why it works for me, but no, every day we have doubts.  When you're doing something like this, like Mozart, it's different.  Because it's in progress, you go onstage, it's-

The songs are already there.

Yeah, the songs are already there.  We have doubts, we don't know if it will work, that's why we do all this promo work, that's why we go out and say "Come on, this will be great, you've got to come see it!"  But when you write, when you create, as a creator, you go through periods of a lot of doubt, and the pressure can really test your limits.

Mélissa, during hair and makeup when you're getting ready for this show, do you feel the pressure?

It's more relaxing, actually.  It depends.

And what do you think about?

Nothing! I make sure I look good enough to go onstage!

Okay, my makeup is a little extreme because the show is going to start soon.  You've got to look pretty, so I made myself pretty..  I'll show you around a little.  So here are the musicians' dressing room, they're called the Vodka People.  Here's Thierry, the conductor.  François Delphin, a superb guitarist.  Mathieu Raboté, we only take the best!  You've got Bryce Bérion who's just behind you there.  The keyboardist.  You've got Laurent Cauclaire, who just lost fifteen kilos.  Here's Maho, who wasn't here a minute ago.

Is it hard to work with Solal, Mikelangelo, Florent Mothe?

It's tough.  Especially this character next to me-

Who is it?

This character is my friend Solal.

He's great, as you can see there's a pretty terrible ambiance in here.  Here we have our dear producer, Boris Orloff, who's made this incredible experience possible and shared it with us.  I was telling you earlier-

Why Mozart l'opéra rock?  Why did you choose this show?

Because it's good.

It was really all because of me being in it.  If it wasn't for me, none of this would have been possible.

Absolutely.

Boris, yes, he's crazy, because in these days you have to be crazy to take a chance like this.  We've been extraordinarily lucky.  I was telling you earlier, really, I thank you every day for giving us this opportunity.  Truly.

Here we have the Ukrainian musicians who are here, mixed in with some of the members of the chorus, and the concertist- the- what? The musicians, violin, oboe, everything that makes up a philharmonic- or symphonic orchestra.  Woodwinds, strings, brass, et cetera, percussion, and you have the singers, who are said to have the best bass, or low voices in the classical repertory.  They're known for that.  Ukranians and Russians are known for that, so we were really lucky.  It's like Mikele said, every night we have to sing louder and louder to be able to compete with these marvelous voices, and to do them justice.  It's an honor to perform with them, truly.

Here you have what's called catering, and it's very important, because to sing well, you have to eat well.  And to eat well, we have a menu that- well we call it catering, but actually it's the cafeteria for all of the musicians, the stagehands, the singers, and I've gotta say, we eat extremely well, we're really well taken care of, and this is the team responsible.  They're manning the ovens now.  All of this team here, they're just- they're just- we're in Toulouse, and, and these guys, they're called Etc Etc, and they're the best catering in all of France.  You can send me a check later, no worries.  There you can see Mikele, who's having dinner, over there.  With Florent Mothe.  Yes, and our sound engineer.  This is where it's happening, right here.

Everything's great, and we're really happy to be in Toulouse.

As you can see, it's not just the Vodka People who've gotten into the vodka.

Apparently they've made us [?], it's a specialty-

We don't know what it is, but we'll find out soon, during the show.

I have to let you go, because I have to go- well, I'm already in makeup, but- oh, here's Yohann, who's going to do my hair.  He's going to make me even more beautiful than I already am.  Out of respect for the audience who was kind enough to come see us tonight.

And the audience in Toulouse really turned out for Mozart l'opéra rock le concert.  The Troupe is on tour now throughout France.  This has been "Backstage", we'll see each other soon!  Ciao!

DIANE DASSIGNY

Actress and singer, she'll be on tour next month with Mozart l'Opéra Rock, Dove Attia's musical. She'll also be headlining with Michel Vuillermoz in the film "L'Assiette de mon voisin" (My Neighbor's Plate) and a Rachmaninov biopic with Gérard Depardieu.

My favorite arist: The photographer Pablo de Selva. He has the gift of transforming the most crude truths into poetry.  His photos make you look twice, like the one where you see Venice and the London metro.

My discovery: This MAC blush a makeup artist gave me. You're guaranteed to have a good look...

My sweet tooth: Nutella... my best friend even gave me a special spoon from Pylones that was made especially for Nutella jars.

My piano: I've been playing music since I was a child. Even though I was classically trained at a conservatory, I'd like to know how to improvise.  I accompany myself on the keyboard so I can learn how to sing without music.

My notebook: Le Keel's Simple Diary.  It's a helpful tool, a private journal for lazy people that already has questions written in to help you know what to write.  It gives you a very simple and modest way to sort through your daily grind.

My struggle: I sponsor the ELA (European Leukodystrophies Association) in their work with rare genetic illnesses. I took part in a fundraiser where each person wears a podometer, and each step they take earns on euro for ELA.

My bracelet: I don't wear much jewelry. But I have a soft spot for the silver Clio Blue bracelet that my mother gave me when I turned thirty.

My trophy: A Swarovski broach that I wore during my first performances in Mozart l'Opéra Rock. They let me keep it!

My favorite film: "Some Like it Hot" by Billy Wilder is the best Marilyn Monroe film.  She's the ultimate "woman-child". Her acting was always special to me. And her voice has this magical vibrato, with this ridiculous sensuality.

My favorite thing: "Le Rescue" spray from Fleurs de Bach. I use it before each rehearsal and audition to relax. And it works!

My favorite product: "L'eau Florale" from Sisley. It was made to be used at the beach, but it works amazingly for me all year.  My skin is too dry. Plus I love the rose scent.

Original video here.

Hello everyone, this is Greg from SimCookie with a new, exclusive video of Sims 4!  When the Sims went to GamesCon we got to get our hands on the game again.  We were allowed to record ten minutes of video, so that's what we did.  I was with Julian from SimsWiki, so the first part of this video is mine and there will be a second part on SimsWiki.  First of all, I have to say that since this is a ten minute video, we went over everything as quickly as possible, so don't hesitate to pause so you can see all the options and details better.

So I started in CAS, and before getting started I had to choose an Aspiration trait and a Personality trait, which you do here by clicking "accept".  Then you have a new kind of family photo--the old one doesn't exist anymore and was replaced by this.  Then there's a short loading screen before you arrive in the neighborhood.  This is the world and there are multiple neighborhoods, multiple free spaces, and a short loading screen once you choose which one to visit.  You can also go directly to Oasis Springs.  You can live in either world without starting a new game, which is a cool thing in the Sims 4.  So all the green spaces mean it's a lower-priced place where you have the option to move with your family.  We chose this one.  You're still able to choose houses where Sims are already living, furnished, or unfurnished.  Another loading screen that just lasts a ten seconds, or fifteen, I don't know.  In any case, it's really short.

So here we are in the game!  One aggravating thing is that they're all here every time, it's a little annoying, but it's okay now since we're just starting a game.  Here's our little family, and we're in Oasis Springs, here's what that looks like.  Each neighborhood of the world has its own look.  I think Oasis Springs has the nicest decor.  So here's our little family, you can see there are all these interactions that light up, here's Cookie who's reading his book, two of them talking by the television, and she's gone into her room for the night to read in bed.
This thing is talking about Emotions, and she's "Inspired", so we see that now that she's inspired she can go cook a meal that's particularly good.  So I'll go click on the fridge and have her prepare a dinner.  Now you can choose between having her cook for many people, or a few people--it depends.  So on the menu at the right you have Aspirations, and you can unlock points... wait, no!  When you achieve Wishes you earn points that you can spend on Rewards.  Here, these are the Wishes.

Next you have the menu for careers.  You can choose a career straight from here.  So here Greg is busy but all we have to do is make a call, so we'll make him stop talking.  Here's another menu, so now we're in the Career Selection.  This is the complete list, I think, of all possible careers.  There's Criminal, Tech Guru, Astronaut, Entertainer--I don't remember what that is.  And then you have little challenges, so for example, here he's going to have to develop his skills for his career.  It's the same for kids at school; they have to increase their skills to get better grades.  That's what's really great.  And as far as the traits go, you have more skills to unlock.  So her creativity is going up, but her--I can't think of the translation, but it's her social skill.

For relationships, there's no family tree in the Sims 4.  Yeah, I'm disappointed.  She could read this.  So, the girl is talking to her mother right now while her mother is cooking.  I think that's really cute.  So I'll tell her to do her homework, and she's doing it right here in front of the kitchen.  And they're all cooking right now because they're all hungry.  So time moves a little more slowly in the Sims 4.  Here Greg is hungry, so I'm going to feed him.  There's a menu here with statistics, the personality traits of your Sims, and their age.  If you select this menu of Stats it shows little statistics on your Sim, like how many times he's been sad, how many times he's been happy.

So here, I'm going to feed him.  So he called everyone to come eat at the same time.  Since there aren't enough chairs each one will go eat wherever they can--the couch, this chair.  And there's always a little music when your Sim's mood changes.  So each one is busy right now.  And you can see the number of people around the house in the neighborhood.  You'll always be able to have guests over.

So here's the menu for parties.  We're not going to start a party, but I'll show you how it works.  Each party gives you a little challenge to unlock more things.  Here it is, so you can have a house party, a dinner party, a wedding, or a birthday, and each one lets you unlock objects, if your party is successful.

Cars don't actually exist, they're just an effect.  You can back out to the map view like in the Sims 3 and click another location.  So we're going to go for a walk and show you how that works.  We'll go to Willow Creek, to the park.  We'll go with the little girl.  The loading screens are really very fast, so you shouldn't worry.  I mean, it's a little annoying overall, but if that allows you to have more people in the lots it makes sense.

So here we are in the park, which you can edit.  Not the surrounding areas, but there's a lot, this little park, which you can edit yourself.  So we'll send her to play on this toy.  And since Greg is an adult, he can play with this little girl.  He's going to be the monster, here he goes.  And that strengthens the characters' relationship.  So children have a lot of interactions with adults, they can Brighten their Day, but it's just because she's totally happy. So that's why she's going to do it. She can complain about her parents, too.

The white Plumbobs mean that they're in a group.  Here, he's going to interact with us because he has the white plumbob, the transparent one.  There are a lot of choices, you can Invite him to a Fake Party.  We throw fake parties in the Sims.  As you can see, now they can talk across long distances, that's another really nice thing.  Uh-oh, there's Cassandra Goth back there and she isn't very happy.  She'll cheer up with us.

You can control your Sims from far away, too.  The ones that aren't with you.  They can "Care for Self" and Socialize with other characters that you can select.  They can even do yardwork.  It's cool.  And you can bring them to this lot if you want them to join you.  And you can change the active Sim, you can go back to the house like this if you want to go back to your home lot to another Sim.  While these two stay here and talk, of course.  The ones at the park stay at the park.  But you'd have some control over the character.

Like I said, time moves kind of slowly.  Up top you have the menu, which is totally new.  It's a little weird at first but you get used to it. You have construction mode, the gallery, go up or down a floor, show the walls, the camera, stuff like that.  Greg can make a joke about toilets.  You can tell a joke that's not that great.  You can even text other Sims.

Zooming back out because we're going home.  We click on Oasis Springs, and our house has the green Plumbob.  We'll tell the little girl to come with us, and now we're going home.

So this has already been ten minutes of gameplay, so we haven't mentioned everything, we haven't talked about a lot of details and I'm sorry for that.  I tried to talk pretty quickly so I may have forgotten something, but you can see the next part on SimsWiki, which will be uploaded soon.

Here's a view of the area, here's a little trailer you can move into but I think there's already a family in there.

I'll see you soon, my Sim is off to bed!

princesse_incongrue: Florent Mothe looking over his shoulder, singing, pain on his face (emo salieri)

 Original video here

Do you want to know everything about Florent Mothe? His dreams, his plans, his secrets--he'll tell you everything during our special, "Questions from Fans".

Can you share any secrets about your new album with us?

The album is going to be a little more- a little more sunny. A little happier.  My first album was a little depressed.  Since then I've gone through some things that have made me smile, so that will show up on the next album.  It's a little more dreamy, kind of, a little wackier too.  The people who knew my music from before Mozart might find a little bit of silliness that I had before.

Will there be collaborations [with other singers] on the new album?

I worked with a guy called Elian, who's a rapper who does hardcore rap.  What they did with me was really political and really funny, it works really well.  And I also composed a lot of songs by myself at home, and I did collaborations with, uh, with Olivia Reine (?), with a group called "Mutine", who are just starting to get noticed.  I worked a little bit with my brother.  There you go.

What is your favorite song to perform onstage?

That depends on the context.  It depends on the ambiance.  For me, the song I liked best from my first album was Astérisque, a song I wrote with Ycare, which I really like to sing.  So, Astérisque.

How are you feeling as you prepare to go back onstage with your comrades from MOR?

I'm excited, and mostly it's to see the French public again.  Because my friends from Mozart and I pretty much left each others' company since we already toured together last year in Russia and right now we're doing a lot of promotion work together, we're filming a lot.  I think we're mostly excited to put this show on together for the French public.  That's most of our excitement: being on the French stage again.

What is your favorite memory from the Mozart tour?

There are so many, we really had a lot of fun doing the tour, both tours.  I did a lot of acting with Yamin Dib, who played Count Rosenberg, a really colorful character.  We had a lot of fun together, so I have really great memories of that, especially when we broke onstage I couldn't even deliver my lines, I just had to leave the stage.  And the final performances at Bercy were really emotionally-charged.  It was beautiful.  It was difficult, but it was beautiful.

In one interview, you said you didn't wear anything under your Salieri costume.  Is that true?

Yes, it's true.  The story- the backstory is that we're very superstitious in the world of music, and in musicals.  And I was afraid of having any lucky clothes, especially lucky underwear, because I had a friend who told me he had had lucky underwear, and the day he forgot to wear them we put on a terrible concert.  So I didn't wear anything at all.  I never should have said that- I'm so embarrassed.

Which singer most inspired you and pushed you toward this line of work?

When I was at the age where I wanted to start a band, the band I listened to the most was Guns and Roses.  It was Axl Rose the singer from Guns and Roses.  And there was, there was Korn and Deaf Tones.  That was just for rock.  Other than that, ever since, it's been rediscovering John Lennon, rediscovering Amy Winehouse, [???], Gainesbourg... not so much the singing, but Gainesbourg... yeah!... not really my style.  But it's inspiring anyway.

Have you considered going back to screamo?

Yeah, I started out in heavy metal.  And I listen to it a lot less now because I don't think it's that good these days, it involves less creation--less creativity, sorry--and... would I go back?  Well, why not? I like all styles of music.  I like doing musicals, I like singing rock, I'd like to do hip-hop, but I'm not sure I'm capable.  As for heavy metal, I've lost the ability a little now because it's a very specific technique, for heavy metal it really has to come from your gut.  I've settled down some.

What are you listening to now?

Stromáe, his music rocks.  Stromáe's album is really superb.  And, other than that what have I been listening to?  Well, I listen to the Top Ten.  The Top Ten, iTunes radio, Chandelier... what else is good right now?  The song by Milky Chance is really nice...

For which singer would you write a song?

Well first they'd have to ask me.  Writing for a girl would be cool.  I'd like to write for a whole band, maybe.  A group like [???] for example.  I'd really like to work with a group.  It would be a good idea to do a song with a group.

What do you do in your free time?

I watch TV.  Online.  Breaking Bad is my favorite.  Actually, I watch shows and films--actually, I don't really like tv shows other than Breaking Bad.  I had trouble with Game of Thrones.  Everyone loves it but I had a lot of trouble getting into it.  I found it a little boring.

Are you a good cook [cordon-bleu]?

I cook, but not well. [Je suis un cordon, mais pas bleu.]  I can make a plate of eggs.  I make soft-boiled eggs.  Really, really, really good soft-boiled eggs.  And calf liver, really good calf liver.  But that's all!  That's pitiful, isn't it?

Can you still walk down the street without being recognized?

Yes, I can still walk down the street without being recognized.  People might recognize me every once in a while, but honestly it's mostly nice when it happens, because people don't crowd around me, like, "Ooh, Mister Mothe, Florent!" or anything like that.  So it's still fine at this point.

Which superhero would you like to be?

Well, Superman is great, he's the strongest one, isn't he?  No, Batman.  Batman is the best.

What's the silliest thing you did when you were a child?

Oh gosh.  I broke my aunt's engagement ring.  My cousins, my brother and I were playing hide-and-seek, and I knocked over an armoire which exploded across the bathroom floor, and my aunt's engagement ring with it.  Sorry again, Auntie.  My cousin was watching us, she was ten years older than us, she was a teenager but she never wanted to babysit me again.  No one ever wanted to babysit me back then with my cousin and my brother.  We couldn't go anywhere, no one wanted to babysit us, we got into too much trouble.

What's the funniest gift you've ever received?

Someone made me a butter-Flo [Mothe de buerre]. Florent Mothe made of butter.  The fan brought me a butter-Flo.  Thanks!

princesse_incongrue: Mikelangelo Loconte singing into a microphone in front of a red background (mikele rocking)
Original interview here.

Hello Florent and Mikelangelo, welcome to Ptitblog. At the end of the summer you'll return with MORLC.  Could you explain what will be different from the show you were in from 2009 to 2011?

Mikelangelo: The symphonic concert MORLC isn't like the musical. It's more or less the concept they had developed with Notre Dame de Paris: they've rearranged the entire musical into one concert, where there is no acting, no dancers, and everything is based on the sound.  So this time, they wanted to do it with MOR.  It's a French organization called V. Dest which works with bringing famous French artists together and sending them to easter countries to do huge concerts there.  We did two tours in Russia and Ukraine with 7000 people at St Petersburg both times, we were at the Kremlin, so it was an incredible experience.  We have confidence in this show because we tested it in a country where people weren't familiar with it.  There were just posters in town.  They came to see us and accepted us and it worked.

What are some of your memories from the two tours in Russia and Ukraine?

Florent: It was pretty incredible because as Mikelangelo said, we were unknown there. That is, we weren't completely unknown, because there were some fans that knew us from the internet and came to see us in France during the show.  So we had a little fanbase there, which we went to see, and then the community grew.  We haven't made it as far as the greater public yet, but we've reached a certain audience.  And it was incredible because it's just another culture, they didn't listen to the music the same way we do, of course, because we're speaking a foreign language... But anyway, we met new people, we played with a new orchestra, with a conductor, and a new troupe was created.  And we have incredible memories of all of it, which is why we're so eager to show the French public, who already knows us!

Your tour had to be pushed back because of the events in Ukraine, which affected your orchestra.  Are you going to be reunited with the same orchestra in September?

Mikelangelo: Well the situation has stabilized so it will be the same orchestra. But in any case we had to make that decision and we were affected by the production team's decision.  It's the producers who are really human.  It was out of anyone's control. No one could help it, and when that happens, you have the choice between carrying on with your plans or waiting for them.  We decided to wait, and I'm proud of that decision because, in a country where people are shooting each other, calling on some folks to work, making them leave their families, is forcing them to do something horrible if they want to keep their jobs.  So that was the right decision.  If all goes well, they'll be the ones at the concert.

Have you begun rehearsing for the French tour?

Mikelangelo: No, not yet.

Florent: We're playing at the Festival de Carthage in Tunisia this summer so that will be a little like a rehearsal for us.

Mikelangelo: Because we don't really rehearse.  Even when we rehearse, we're doing concerts! But on the other hand, yes, it's true that Carthage is a chance to test our show again.

I imagine that it's very difficult for you to sing these songs without performing the entire show.

Florent: They've got nothing to do with each other! This is just the music! So we're much freer to have fun with it.  We play with the audience, I play with the orchestra, I stroll through the rows of the orchestra during the concert.  Whereas during the musical, it was theater, there was timing... This is a concert.  We come onstage with a microphone, the conductor, 1, 2, 3, 4, and we're off!

Mikelangelo: It's a journey with the audience.  Whereas sometimes, a theatrical show, the audience watches you make a journey.  It's different.  But in any case, we're confident, because you know, when it works in Russia... the Ukranian fans and the Russian fans, they practically made love to us there.  Really!  While we were on stage we felt this energy.  There were people who did dances, who threw flowers, drawings, works of art... They made dolls for us, they made us comic strips... The amount they put into it was incredible... So then we came back, recharged by all this love and now we're eager to do the same thing in France with the same energy.

Can you share an anecdote from the Russian concerts for your fans?

Mikelangelo: We have a song where Solal breaks in with a part like "[je parle] au nom du père, ne lâche pas la main de l'ange..." [Les Solos sous les draps] something really serious like that.  That means that the entire symphonie orchestra slows down and creates this super moment, a really sumptuous sound, right?  And then Solal arrives in this huge beam of light and sings his part, all the lights are on him, all the audience is watching him, all the orchestra is with him.  But right at that moment, he was messing around backstage.  So then, we hear the orchestra playing Solal's part, without Solal.  Solal was backstage.

Florent: I forgot about that! (laughs)

Mikelangelo: And Solal was with me! He looked at me, and I saw his expression change, I saw his face change and he said "That's me! And I have to sing!" With the entire symphonic orchestra asking him "And where were you?"  So there was an instrumental section instead of Solal!  And the lights all went over to one spot, no one understood why.  They must have lit up a stairway.  It was amazing!  One of my favorite memories of MOR in Russia!  And I think that was at the Kremlin!

Florent: And it was at the Kremlin!  What!

Mikelangelo: Yeah, Solal was even more upset.  And he was in the middle of telling a joke.  Can you imagine? When he's supposed to be the most professional of all of us!

Florent: No, he's always messing around!

You'll be doing a tour like in the good old days. Are you excited?

Florent: Yes! Also, this tour is a little different.  During the first MOR tour, we did a "star tour", that's what it's called.  That means we left from Paris, passed the weekend in a city, and at the end of the weekend we came back to Paris, then left for another town the next weekend.

Mikelangelo: I like that, "star tour".  I didn't know, that's cool, you taught me something great.

Florent: This time, we're not doing a "star tour", we're doing a continuous tour.  We're on the road together for two weeks straight.  We're going to have a lot of fun.

Mikelangelo: We're going to have laundry everywhere! (laughs)

Is there a song that you particularly like in this new version?

Florent: I have a lot of fun singing "Victime de ma victoire" because my colleagues are doing the chorus parts now.  It's something I couldn't do when I was Salieri during the first version of the show, because Salieri always sings alone, it's kind of annoying!

Mikelangelo: I love watching him while he sings "Victime de ma victoire" because he acts like he's drunk, so he moves strangely, I promise it's a show!

Florent: I'm also pretty good at acting drunk.

Mikelangelo: He's really really good at doing that.  You can't take your eyes off him, you watch him the whole time and you crack up the whole time.

Florent: You were asking for anecdotes a second ago, so here's one! So one day we were singing "L'assasymphonie" in Russian, so we had a guy who came up with a teleprompter because we didn't quite have enough time to learn the song in Russian.  But this guy, he didn't speak English or French, just Russian, so we had trouble understanding each other.  And he was really stressed.  Really, really, really stressed.  And just before "Victime de ma victoire" he didn't know if he should leave, so it was right then.  Just before coming onstage I get in character, so I was acting a little drunk backstage. And he saw me coming, and I saw his whole face go, "he's been drinking, no way! I'm already stressed, I don't know what I'm going to do!" and I said to him [in English], "Vodka good!" He didn't understand anything that was happening to him, it was pretty funny!

Mikelangelo: That's amazing! (laughs) For me, the song I like to sing the most is "Le carnivore".  It's a song that I've always wanted to sing but it wasn't in the final cut of the show, and now I can.  And we did an incredible arrangement with a super guitar solo, a little like Pink Floyd toward the end, it's incredible.

During the first tour, social networks weren't as powerful as they are today.  Are you counting on using them more this time?

Florent: Oh yeah, that's true, in Mozart's era we didn't have twitter and instagram!  So now we can put things online in real time!  That'll be fun.

Mikelangelo: Yes, for the time being we're focused on preparing the concert and a few other things but I think soon we're going to have a little fun with social networks!

Next, would you like to do the whole show again someday?  Or would you dislike that?

Florent: Yes, yes!  Why not?

Mikelangelo: I don't know.  I don't think so, for me.  Unless it's something completely redone, original, if it's like a revolution.

Florent: Yeah but there's already been a Revolution!

Mikelangelo: Yeah that's true.  But I mean a revolution in the musical format, not the Revolution in musical format! (laughs)

Now we're going to talk a little about your solo careers if you don't mind.  Florent, your first album came out a little over a year ago.  What are the numbers like from that year?

Florent: It was my first album, it was a little difficult because I had just come out of MOR, and I was new to it all.  But I know that there were three or four songs on that album that I'll play for the rest of my life.

And you're preparing a second album.  Where are you planning to take that?

Florent: It's a little lonelier, a little more cheerful, funnier, a little more wacky as well, and a little less sad! The first album had a lot of guitar, this one was composed on the piano, so it will sound different, you'll see.  I'm excited!

You worked with Ycare on the first album.  Did you work with him again for this one?

Florent: I started to work with Ycare but he's very busy. I work with lots of new people now and it's great! I'm really very pleased.

And you, Mikelangelo, where are you with yours?

Mikelangelo: For us, we had to break free of MOR.  And then we found ourselves with huge organizations. So it's hard for us to lead the teams.  We are artists.  I mean, leading businessmen, musicians, labels, etc, while still doing exactly what's in your head... It's tough when you have a vision, it's a lot easier to say "okay, do what you want, and I'll sing".  So for now I'm in the middle of preparing an album, and I'm going to take the musicians that have been chosen.  We're working on getting ourselves into a rehearsal space to really perfect the arrangements. The album is pretty much ready except for the lyrics, where there are a few things left to finalie.  It will be an album that's very original, it's very very hard to get it out, because people don't allow for an album to be very extravagant, and since that's the idea that I've had for such a long time... It's really my dream to make a truly original album, but I'm being pushed back. For now I'm going to get into a studio, I'm going to record it all live.  After some post-production, I'll be ready. But first I've got to put out two wild singles online and a real single.

A while ago you performed a single while you were on the show "Toute une histoire"... [Memory Day]

Mikelangelo: That song, it might not even be on the album. Because I'm a musician, I'm a creator of songs, and when someone asks me to make a song for myself, I make a song to myself, just a song for me.  I didn't have anything to sell at the time, I couldn't say, "my album is going to be like this". I just chose a song that was fresh and I tried to do it.

You also recently created a series called "A star, a journey". Can you tell me more about that?

Mikelangelo: Yes, I have a rubric. There will be more, in fact I'll meet artists and try to have them talk about themselves, all within a story of a journey. That is, the journey is an excuse.  Because you know, we all have a place we have seen in life, where we felt special... It's true, we all have contact with a journey that we've made.  It's a lovely way to make the artist talk about things that they wouldn't otherwise. So the series is called "A star, a journey", and I did one with Mélissa Mars, and I'll be back soon.  I'm very particular about choosing people, it's nothing to do with who they really are, it's people chosen with the website "inside all".

So, what is "your" journey?

Mikelangelo: There have been a few. I was really moved by the journey that I made in Odessa. One town that really spoke to me was Venice. And I was really shocked by the trip I took to Brazil, I have great memories from it, I did some concerts there and it was incredible.

And Florent?

Florent: For me it was Toronto, where I lived the Bohemian life all artists dream about! But at that time I had a lot of friends, I was always partying... I worked hard, and finally I said "now I have to stop, I have to do nothing but music, it doesn't matter if it's successful or not". So I quit working for six months, I wrote all day, I made music, and at night I partied, that was the Bohemian life. And Toronto is a great city.

What are you dreams as you go forward?  Mikelangelo, you're a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, would you like to do theater or cinema?

Mikelangelo: Theater or cinema, yes. But it's complicated for me, because I'm a guy who has a lot of trouble coming out of character, so I would need a very particular kind of role. And plus I have an accent, so I couldn't play every role in France. But I'm a trained actor. But I would have to find an agency to get started, but my training is there.

A final word for our readers and your fans?

Florent: Thank you for your support, because the fans of MOR have been very important for the success of the show. All the way back to the beginning. As for me, in my solo career, again fans have been very important. It's very important to know that there are people behind you. The public is the reason we do this, because without them no one will listen to us, so yes, thank you to the fans, and I hope that they'll like MORLC and my second album, and everything that will come afterward.

Mikelangelo: It's true it's great, people like us as if we were something from their dreams. And you can't put a price on that, I know that there is real love coming from the audience, and it's a pretty foreign audience, today, that's not just Russian or Ukrainian. There are fans in Korea, Japan, a few people in Brazil, Chili, Mexico, the US...

Florent: England, Canada...

Mikelangelo: It's very interesting, all of that. Sometimes I get the impression that I was created from all of this, like I came from these peoples' dreams. It's very strange, we have a great audience, from those who are just curious, to people who love the genre, to people who specifically love us, to the people who are truly fans. And I hope there are groupies as well! (laughs)

Quelque chose me manques, mais quoi?

J'men fous j'habite au dernier étage

I wanna have une moustache
Une moustache, une moustache

Refrain:

I wanna have une moustache
Une moustache, une moustache

(Refrain)

J'donnerais tout ce que j'ai
Contre une moustache
Maintenant je sais
Ce que je veux c'est
Une moustache

J'pourrais tout laisser
Tout donner
Pour une moustache
J'ai peut-être tout c'est vrai
Mais pas ce que je voulais

(Refrain)
I'm missing something, but what?
I want this, I want that
When I sleep, I dream in dollars
Every day I've got a new suit

Everything at my house is new, it's all nice
The world weeps outside my curtains
I don't care, I live on the top floor
I don't even know my maid

There's leather in my car
The scent of my cologne is reassuring
I don't like to show my emotions
In the weights room

I lift my barbells with extra weights
My body is a war machine
I've got everything people dream of
Maybe I have everything it's true, but

I wanted a mustache
A mustache, a mustache
I wanna have a mustache
A mustache, a mustache

Refrain:
I want this, I want that
I can never get enough
It's like this, it's like that
There's always something I don't have

So I keep adding more and more
Tons of stuff down the back of my closet
I have friends nonetheless
And I even have friends who like me

I tell myself I have everything I need to be happy
(I have everything for-!)
I've got the world at my feet
(It's nuts!)
I've got everything people dream of
Maybe I have everything, it's true, but

I wanted a mustache
A mustache, a mustache
I wanna have a mustache
A mustache, a mustache

(Refrain)

I would give everything I have
For a mustache
Now I know
What I want is
A mustache

I could leave everything behind
Give everything up
For a mustache
Maybe I have everything, it's true
But not what I wanted

(Refrain)

You men are all the same
Macho but cheap
You're a bunch of unfaithful sissies
So predictable
No I'm not certain
You deserve it
You're lucky we like you
Say 'thank you' to me

Save the date, save the date
See you at the next reckoning
Save the date, save the date
I'll definitely see you next period

This was the last time
You can think of it as a crisis
Take one last look at my ass
It's here next to my suitcases
You'll say goodbye to your mother
Who idolizes you
You can't even see everything you're losing
It'd be worse with someone else

Oh, now you want to finish it too?
The world is upside-down
I just said it to get a rise out of you
You were the one who was thinking it

Save the date, save the date
See you at the next reckoning
Save the date, save the date
I'll definitely see you next period

It's easy to say I'm vapid
And that I babble on too much
But no no no, it's important
What you call "Aunt Flo"
You know what children mean to me
But it's never the right time
To have them; you're here for now
But you'll disappear when it's time to raise them
As soon as I'm not pretty anymore
Or at least less natural
Stop it, I know you're lying
Only Kate Moss doesn't age

Ugly or beautiful, it's never just right
Stupid or beautiful, it's never just right
Beautiful or myself, it's never just right
Me or her, it's never just right

Save the date, save the date
See you at the next reckoning
Save the date, save the date
I'll definitely see you next period

All the same, all the same
All the same, and we're fed up
All the same, all the same
All the same, and we're fed up
All the same, all the same
All the same, and we're fed up

princesse_incongrue: Mikelangelo Loconte singing into a microphone in front of a red background (mikele rocking)
 Original article hosted here.

Already spoiled by the success of Les 10 Commandements and Le Roi soleil, Dove Attia and Albert Cohen are honoring Mozart with a rock opera dedicated to him. Onstage in Paris at the end of the summer, launched to fame by the massive success of the first few singles from the show, the protagonists of the story sat down with STAR Club for the following interview...

What's the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Mikele: I look to make sure that my favorite things are still there and I turn on the computer.
Flo: I have a cup of coffee, which is good for creativity, and I write about three pages as soon as I wake up.
Maeva: I drink a cup of tea.
Solal: I drink a big glass of hot lemon juice.  It's excellent for your digestion.

What's the last thing you think about before you go to bed?
Mikele: Going to bed annoys me.  I've always got something to do to put it off...
Flo: That depends on what happened just before.  In general, I relive the day.
Solal: I ask myself if I know for sure whether or not I'll wake up.  Since my kids were born I get really stressed over the idea that I might not wake up the next morning.
Maeva: I think over the last few pages of whatever book I'm reading.

In what era would you have liked to have lived?
Flo: During the Renaissance, in Italy.  I would have gone to see Da Vinci, Raphael, and the other great painters of that era.
Mikele: Me too, I'd pick the Renaissance, which was a very important era for art.
Maeva: In the sixties.  I would have loved the chance to go see the Beatles.

What is the worst mistake of your life so far?
Mikele: When I was in the Italian army, I thought up a way to desert the army.  One day, it worked but I was caught.  I almost went to prison!
Solal: It was when I was in Starmania.  One night, when I was supposed to sing, I forgot to go onstage.  It was only when I heard the first notes of my character's song that I realized what I'd done!
Flo: When I was younger, I was supposed to be talking onstage but I started to stutter and I couldn't get out a single coherent word.  That was a really lonely moment...
Maeva: When I was sixteen, I organized a house party while my parents were out, even though they'd told me not to.  They found out and my punishment was so bad...

The angriest you've ever been?
Mikele: I'm very rarely angry.  It happened one time when someone who was very jealous of me interrupted my concert by cutting out the sound!
Flo: Whenever I mess up onstage I'm a mess for the next half hour.
Maeva: I'm not angry very often.

Who would you like to interview and why?
Maeva: Vanessa Paradis, so I could figure out how she's able to lead two lives.  She's a very open artist, but she's able to preserve a private life as well.  I'd ask what her secret was.
Mikele: Charlotte Gainsbourg.  She's the only woman who's able to reconcile beauty, charm, and talent.  Plus, she's still attractive even without makeup and nice outfits.
Flo: If I could go back in time, I'd like to inerview Mozart to ask what he thought of Salieri's music.

What is the most ridiculous thing you could imagine wearing?
Mikele: A red jacket with brown spots.
Flo: Borat's oufit, when he's telling a story... Or his swimsuit.
Maeva: Albert Cohen's pleated jacket.
Solal: Socks with sandals.

Who do you think is the most attractive celebrity?
Mikele: Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Flo: I'll say Marilyn because she's the first person to come to mind, but there are a lot of others: Marie Curie, Camille Claudel, Edith Piaf.  Charismatic women.
Maeva: I think Olivier Miller is really cute.

What is your biggest phobia?
Mikele: I hate getting undressed.  Ever since I was small, the idea of being seen without clothes on has terrified me.  I probably need some kind of therapy...
Maeva: Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything.  I don't think I have any particular phobia.
Flo: I have this obsessive fear of war, or soldiers.  It's something I can't stand!

What would you change about yourself if you could?
Mikele: It would be something physical. I think I'd like to redesign myself.
Flo: I'd like to be a few centimeters taller.
Maeva: Me too, I'd like to be taller.

Onstage at the Palais des Sports in Paris, starting September 22nd, Mikele, Flow, and the rest of the troupe of actors, singers, and dancers will bring new life to the story of Mozart, a little prodigy who was as sweet as he was mischievious.

There will be a total of fifty people onstage for a two month period, before they head off to put the show on in some of the biggest towns throughout France.

Hello, it's Melissa Mars, and I wanted to say hi.  I just got back from filming overseas and am taking advantage of passing through Paris by meeting up with the Mozart l'Opéra Rock Troupe for a few promotional meetings.  I've missed all of you, I've missed the Troupe, and it's such a pleasure to see all of you again.  We just did Sidaction which will air April 5th on France 2, we did a show called "Comment ça fait du bien" with Stephen Marley (?) which will air... when will it air?  Do you want to know?  Then follow us on the Mozart l'Opéra Rock facebook page to start with, and then on our personal accounts!  That would be Mikelangelo Loconte, Florent Mothe, Maeva Méline, Diane Dassigny, Solal, and myself!  On... on facebook, on twitter, instagram... for me it's "melissamarsofficial" because I'm official, yeah.  Oh, look, my little accessory fell.  And then, most importantly, come see when summer ends, starting in mid-September.  All six of us will be there, accompanied by an orchestra of sixty musicians!  These will be versions of the Mozart l'Opéra Rock songs that you've never heard before unless you came to see us in Russia or Ukraine, because that's where we did this version of the concert for the first time.  It's magical.  Really, it's magical.  I cried the first time I heard the symphonic version of Bim bam boum.  It deserves to be toured, it's worthy of this comeback!  So we'll see you at the beginning of the school year, and until then--kisses!  We'll be in your living rooms on the television screen, or if not we'll definitely be available through your computer screens if you follow us on social media.  That's all, kisses!  Bye!

Florent Mothe and Mikelangelo Loconte, stars of "Mozart l'opéra rock," speak openly about the failure of their solo careers.

Original article here

Between 2009 and 2011, one and a half million people cheered for this duo.  When the musical was over, the performers launched their own careers.  A few months before regrouping for the MORLC tour, they take stock of the mixed results of this experience.

Florent Mothe, who put out the CD "Roch in Chair" in 2013, is the most bitter.  "They didn't let me do what I wanted.  This disk doesn't represent me," he explains.  "It doesn't move me.  Anyone could have sung it in my place."  The 32-year-old Frenchman is working on a new project, which could hit the shelves in 2014.  "I'm freer in my compositions [this time] and I'm enjoying myself.  I'm a rock'n'roll kind of person, not a sappy romantic," he says.

Sitting across from him, his buddy Mikelangelo Loconte has to laugh.  "You're lucky.  No even wanted me." The Italian sent his tracks to multiple labels.  Despite a lot of promises, nothing ever saw the light of day.  "What I do is too artistic.  In the real world market, the big names don't take any risks," he analyzes.  The 40-year-old artist doesn't surrender.  "I have the solution.  I'm going to put out my work with a smaller label.  I'm in negotiations with the United States and the lights are all green."

Original video here.

"Florent Mothe: I'm the sort of person who has a dark place inside."

He was Antionio Salieri in the musical "Mozart l'Opéra Rock".  Florent Mothe will be back onstage in fall 2014 for the symphonic version of the show.

Flo: As you know, the original version is "Mozart l'Opéra Rock," so it's a rock opera, with scenes that are telling the story of Mozart from his adolescence to his death, and all the drama, especially with Salieri.  Now we're doing "Mozart l'Opéra Rock" the concert, so it'll be the songs from the show in a grandiose setting with a symphonic orchestra and a rock and choral group.  So it's a real concert, not a play with what's called a fourth wall, it's actually an interaction between the crowd and the performers--a concert.

The young singer also spoke to us about his musical influences, his participtation in Génération Goldman, social networking, and his upcoming obligations.

Flo: I'm a very energetic boy, but there's a dark side to me which I want to let out in my music.  I listened to Goldman throughout my childhood and I was really proud to be a part of that project, to be a part of a new generation singing Goldman. I sadly never had the chance to meet him.

Flo: Social networking and the internet lets us be a lot closer to our fans, and to send out a message that's more precise than by the one projected by the business of our music.

Flo: I really admire all the people who volunteer to help out year-round, sometimes anonymously.  I had the opportunity to help bring some attention to the cause.  When [they] called me to ask if I would take part in the photoshoot where I would have bruises and scars to help bring awareness to the song and the cause, of course I did it.
